Accessibility Statement for the Silver Spring Black Box Theatre

This is an accessibility statement from the Silver Spring Black Box Theatre.

Venue Accessibility

The Silver Spring Black Box Theatre is ADA compliant and strives to ensure that all areas of the building and all performances are accessible to all.

  • For guests who are deaf or have hearing loss​

    • Assisted Listening Devices are always available upon request at the front office as soon as you enter the Silver Spring Black Box Theatre​

      • The Silver Spring Black Box Theatre is equipped with receiving devices both with accompanying headsets or neck loops. Please let the manager on site know which type is most beneficial to you.​

  • For guests with limited mobility

    • All entrances to all levels of the building and the theatre are accessible. There are ramps between exterior doors of the building and audience seating area in the theatre. Upper and lower levels of the building are accessible by elevator which operates at all times the building is open to the public.​

    • The Silver Spring Black Box Theatre has wheelchair- and scooter-accessible seating where guests can remain in their wheelchairs or transfer to theater seats depending on their preference. Guests should request scooter- or wheelchair-accessible seats at the time of ordering tickets from the producing company. Please reach out to the individual producing organization to request accessible seating as the Silver Spring Black Box Theatre does not handle ticketing in any capacity for any organization using the venue.

    • The Silver Spring Black Box Theatre allows drop offs to the theatre at the front doors of the theatre on Colesville Road and several accessible parking garages and the Silver Spring Metro are located within a 3-5 minute walk.
